The Terra project in the Dalmatian Hinterland demonstrates how a new construction can be given the character of a traditional Dalmatian stone house. Set within a landscape defined by dry stone walls, olive trees, and vineyards, this vacation home features a facade clad in Terra 21230 decorative stone.

Although it is a new build with a floor plan of approximately 60 m², the careful selection of materials and architectural details creates the impression of an authentic stone house that blends naturally into its surroundings. The stone facade, green shutters, wooden pergola, and tiled roof together create a harmonious whole connected to the building traditions of this region.

Terra 21230 decorative stone, one of the signature models from the Rustik Kamen collection, was selected for the facade cladding. Its elements of various sizes and irregular shapes, pronounced surface texture, and natural, light shades create the convincing appearance of a hand-built stone wall.

Approximately 115 m² of decorative stone was installed for this project. The variety of elements allowed for a natural arrangement without strict regularity, giving the facade depth, dynamics, and the character of traditional stone masonry.

The light shades of the Terra model react beautifully to changes in daylight. In the strong Dalmatian sun, they emphasize the relief and irregularities of each element, while in the evening, under warm ambient lighting, the stone surfaces become softer, further enhancing the home’s cozy atmosphere.

Decorative stone also appears in the interior space, where it connects the interior with the architecture of the facade and the surrounding landscape. Combined with light tones, wood, and classic furniture, Terra brings warmth and a distinct Mediterranean character to the space.

Large glass walls further connect the living room with the covered terrace, pool, and outdoor area. In this way, the stone is not just a finishing cladding, but an element that visually unifies the entire project—from the interior of the house to the outdoor relaxation space.

RUSTIK SC adhesive was used for the installation of the decorative stone, while the joints were finished with RUSTIK SG grouting mortar in beige. The carefully selected grout color matches the shades of the stone and contributes to the natural, uniform appearance of the entire surface.

This project shows how modern new construction can preserve the character of a traditional Dalmatian house. The Terra 21230 model allowed the building to feel like a natural part of the landscape from the very beginning—authentic, harmonious, and timeless.
